NextAid’s 6th Annual For The Future Benefit

29 July 2010 No Comment

Join nonprofit NextAid and the San Francisco House Music Community at Café Cocomo in San Francisco for their sixth annual benefit for children affected by AIDS in Africa. “For the Future” draws talent from the major DJ crews in the Bay Area, including: Om Records, PacificSound, Green Gorilla, thePeople Oakland, Stap[e, Forward and [Kontrol].

This 13-hour event will spread the word, garner hope, and raise funds for the construction of a “green” workshop and multipurpose facility for a youth-run business providing positive opportunities in impoverished Kenyan neighborhoods. For over 6 years the San Francisco dance music community has rallied behind NextAid, channeling the positive energy from the dance floor to create change. This year will be no different.

Benefit-goers should arrive early for a special 3-hour session with Halo, David Harness, and Brendon Boden. Can’t show up until later? Don’t stress. Exclusive DJ sets from Moniker, Adnan, Cali, Chris Smith, Little John, and many more will continue through the afternoon and into the late night hours. Supporters include Nitevibe, The MML, Love Fatigues, Fusicology, YBR, AfrodesiaMP3.com, and yours truly, Metrowize.com! Just in case you can’t make it out to catch the live performances, “For the Future” will be broadcast live on prepartyradio.

GetWize: “For the Future” will take place on Sunday, August 1st at Café Cocomo, located at 650 Indiana Street in San Francisco from 1:00PM to 2:00am. Tickets will be available at the door and online for just $10. Click here for pre-sale tickets.
