Tequila aficionados, vamos aqui! Everyone else, watch out for stumblers Saturday night in South Beach, because San Francisco’s best known tequila bar, Tres Agaves, is teaming up with City-based ezine Liquor.com for the first annual Tequila Grand Tasting.

The charity event, benefiting the Guardsmen, will feature tequilas from more than a dozen premium brands, including Antiguo, Casa Noble, Clase Azul, Herraduro, and Partida. DJs will keep the atmosphere lively, while mixologists demo the fine art of Tequila cocktail making; teaching you to think outside the margarita. Tasting runs from 6 to 9 pm. Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased through Liquor.com’s website.

Tres Agaves, recommended as part of any baseball weekend at AT&T Park, features delicious cuisine inspired by Jalisco, Mexico, the home of the blue agave fields and distilleries that make the world’s finest (and only true) tequilas. Of course, they also feature a huge selection of tequilas. Playboy magazine named Tres Agaves one of the country’s top tequila lounges in 2009. The huge floor plan is divided neatly between rear event space and front bar and restaurant areas. The crowd is generally young, hip and energetic, whether they’ve piled in after work or after a Giants game.

The Guardsmen have been helping at-risk youth reach their full potential for more than five decades. Each year they send more than 2500 kids to outdoor education programs and provide 250 Bay Area students with scholarships.
