SF’s Carnaval Hits the Streets This Weekend

26 May 2010 No Comment

Weather notwithstanding, packs of red-hot, scantily dressed dancers will take to the streets this weekend, May 29–30, to celebrate San Francisco’s Carnaval Festival, held in the Mission on Harrison Street between 16th and 22nd Streets from 10 AM–6 PM. On Sunday, watch the Grand Parade, which starts at 9:30 AM at Bryant and 24th Streets and proceeds down Mission to 17th Street. In addition to dancing, organizers will be hosting crafts and other family-friendly events, and attendees can also expect food carts. And if you’re looking to sit down for some fine comida afterwards, check out one of these Mission haunts. Just plan on making reservations or swinging by early to get your name on the list – the waits are bound to be long.
