Take them to the Aquarium of the Bay and they are guaranteed to have a fun time there! It is just under the Monterey Bay in popularity within California. This place has the wonderful walkway under the water where you go through and see all those fish hitting at the transparent walls around you. Rest assured, kids are going to enjoy that. Another sea-related area where the kids will have a jolly good time is the Pier 39 at Fisherman’s Wharf where they can see sea lions lazing around.

There are two museums that require special mention when we are trying to interest kids in San Francisco. One is the Exploratorium. This is located in the Palace of Fine Arts. It has some wonderful exhibits that children will be talking over and over about, especially the Tactile Dome, which they will be able to experience if they are above 7 years of age. The Zeum is the other museum that you need to check out for the kids. It has various attractions for them including a studio where they can make their own music video to show the kids back home and a digital studio where they can make their own little electronic art forms.

Kids love zoos – that’s a universal truth. The San Francisco Zoo goes all out to please the children. Various animals here, such as the prairie dogs and the giraffes, hold particular interest for the children. A visit to the insect room is an absolute must!

You can also take them to the Maritime National Historic Park if you can fit it within your itinerary. Kids will have fun gamboling through the entire place and will also learn a bit of American history while they are at it!
